BINGE CINEMA
From a collaboration between Santa Fe Brewing Company & The Museum of Film Memorabilia, a project like none other was born. The museum created a brand new exhibit for the greatest films of all time. Santa Fe Brewing Company was commissioned to create several beer packages, based on these films, to be served at the opening. The style of each package is an homage to famous graphic designers from that period.
Machined - Golden Belgian Ale
The Great Pilsner - Pilsner
Fire Gold - Orange Cream Milk Stout
Replicant - American Dry Cider
No Face - Red Bean Rice Ale
Life Cycle - American Wild Ale
MACHINED - Golden Belgian Ale (1927)
A Belgian sour beer with notes of orange and ginger, the drink goes down smoothly after a long day of toppling the industrialist reign over the working class.
ABOUT THE FILM
METROPOLIS - In a futuristic city sharply divided between the working class and the city planners, the son of the city’s mastermind falls in love with a working class prophet who predicts the coming of a savior to mediate their differences.
The Great Pilsner - Pilsner (1941)
“More than cleverness, we need kindness…” Who doesn’t love Charlie Chaplin? The Great Pilsner is darker than most of its kind and has contrasting flavors of grapefruit and rose for an uplifting finish.
ABOUT THE FILM
THE GREAT DICTATOR - Dictator Adenoid Hynkel tries to expand his empire while a poor Jewish barber tries to avoid persecution from Hynkel’s regime
Fire Gold - Orange Cream Milk Stout (1971)
You’ve got to have some milk before you head head out with your droogs. We can’t advocate for ultra-violence but this Orange Cream Milk Stout is sure to start the night out right. Maybe take it easy on the Beethoven, though.
ABOUT THE FILM
A CLOCKWORK ORANGE - In future Britain, Alex DeLarge, a charismatic and psychopath delinquent, who likes to practice crimes and ultra-violence with his gang, is jailed and volunteers for an experimental aversion therapy developed by the government in an effort to solve society’s crime problem - but not all goes according to plan.
Replicant - American Dry Cider (1982)
It looks like a beer. It tastes like a beer. It bubbles like a beer but its really a cider. No need to call Harrison Ford, this dry American cider is just fine co-existing with us.
ABOUT THE FILM
BLADE RUNNER - A blade runner must pursue and try to terminate four replicants who stole a ship in space and have returned to Earth to find their creator.
No Face - Red Bean Rice Ale (2001)
Some of the best animations in Studio Ghibli films are the mouth watering foods. Inspired by the delicious buns in Spirited Away, this red bean rice brewed beer is just as irresistible. Careful, though, you may find you can’t help pigging out on the whole pack.
ABOUT THE FILM
SPIRITED AWAY - During her family’s move to the suburbs, a sullen 10-year-old girl wanders into a world ruled by gods, witches, and spirits, and where humans are turned into beasts.
Upstream Color - Wild American Ale (2013)
This dry fermented ginger ale has a bacteria brewed with it similar to kombucha. The bacteria is safe to swallow unlike that larva Kris swallows in Upstream Color but is probably not good to feed to the pigs. With notes of lemon, thyme and an earthy finish this drink is just as wild a ride is as the film it is based on.
ABOUT THE FILM
UPSTREAM COLOR - A man and woman are drawn together, entangled in the life cycle of an ageless organism. Identity becomes an illusion as they struggle to assemble the loose fragments of wrecked lives.
